Alloway right-hander Gerald Plomp pitched his team to victory over the Augusta Timber Hawks at Ballpark of Alloway. The final score was 6-4. Getting the save was Masaharu Sakata, his 1st. Alloway, now 3-1, has played well in the early going.

Tom Boyer had a big 2-run single for the Halberds in the bottom of the third inning. With Alloway leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Katsumoto Miyanohara and stroked the single to right. It was his 4th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Halberds ahead, 4-0.

"Gerald is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Alloway manager Manuel Hernández.
