Andersen Goes Wild, But Disaster Win
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks got a sterling performance from shortstop Gil Andersen, but the Disaster still prevailed, 5-4. Andersen was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Dean Cross earned the win for Port Royal. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 6 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 1-1. The save was credited to Chenor Njie, his 2nd.
Ryan Faulkner, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2029 draft, contributed to the Port Royal win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Faulkner said.
The loss drops Alaskan to 3-3.
