The Biloxi Shuckers got a sterling performance from pitcher Eugenio Pensotti, but the Rawhides still prevailed, 5-4. Pensotti was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Belvedere Park occupies 5th place in the Silver AA at 51-49.
Belvedere Park used the timely hitting of Richello Oliva to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rawhides on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Biloxi manager Ramiro Guzmán. "But we decided not to take it."
