Randall Helps Continentals Beat Farmers
The Chesapeake Continentals beat the Lancaster Farmers, 10-8, at Farmers Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Bud Randall, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Chesapeake reliever Brooks Senetzer picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Hugh Scott was saddled with the loss. Tom Lee notched his 2nd save in 2 chances.

Randall put Chesapeake up, 5-0, when he hit a 2-run home run off Hugh Scott in the top of the second. His 3rd home run of the season helped the Continentals capture the win.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Allen Evans said.

The last-place Continentals raised their record to 31-64.
