Shuckers Pull Even With 9-4 Victory
It was a good time at The Pizza Oven, where fans came to watch the Virginia Beach Whales and Biloxi Shuckers get after it.

The Virginia Beach Whales got a sterling performance from catcher Xavier Mercier, but the Shuckers still prevailed, 9-4. Mercier was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Biloxi is 44-44 and Virginia Beach, with the loss, 58-30.

Neville van Mierlo helped out the Biloxi cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-4 with a walk.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," van Mierlo said.
