Whales Win 5-3 Walk-Off
The Virginia Beach Whales stopped the Tacoma Fur Traders, 5-3, at Virginia Beach Grounds. The Whales got a big game from Dave Thomas, who went 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk. Reliever Wu-shiun Lao picked up the win. His record improves to 7-2. Sherman Harrison took the loss. The first-place Whales have won 4 in a row.

Leon Green took Vincent Moreau deep in the bottom of the 12th. His 2-run home run put the Whales on top, 5-3. In all, Green had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 6.

"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Thomas said.
