The Tacoma Fur Traders got a superb performance from first baseman Tom Washington, but the Lancaster Farmers still won the game, 5-4. Washington was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jasper Kirby was credited with the save for Lancaster, his 17th of the season. The Fur Traders, now 32-40, have lost 4 straight.
In the bottom of the third, Fernando Sandoval hit a bases-clearing double for Lancaster. The 25th double of the season for the Lancaster left fielder put the Farmers on top, 3-2.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Sandoval told the Lancaster Observer.
