Youth Lose Again, 10-6, to Rawhides
|
With first baseman Alec Hall leading the charge, the Belvedere Park Rawhides defeated the Phoenix Hotspur Youth, 10-6, at Grenadiers Ballpark. Hall, who is tied for 4th in the SAA in total bases with 105, was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Belvedere Park starter Teo van der Meulen was credited with the win after throwing 91 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-4. Phoenix Hotspur is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 10 in a row.
Belvedere Park used the timely hitting of Bill Dixon to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put the Rawhides on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Hall told the Belvedere Park Times.
