Tight Tilt Goes to Continentals, 4-3
|
The Continentals had to overcome a good performance from Belvedere Park pitcher Lois Lefebvre to claim a 4-3 win at Field of the Rawhides. Lefebvre went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. The save was credited to Dou-guan Shao, his 5th. Today's win puts Chesapeake at 11-34, while Belvedere Park falls to 27-18.
Chesapeake used the timely hitting of Pat Hopkins to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Continentals on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll savor this win," Hopkins told the Chesapeake Today, "then get ready for the next game."
