Getting a good performance from second baseman Curf Pierstisnips, the Lancaster Farmers defeated the Chesapeake Continentals, 4-3. Pierstisnips went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Farmers. Derek Fisher got the win, improving to 4-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The Farmers' win now puts them at 15-19.
With Lancaster leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Pierstisnips hit a changeup from Alfred Osuch for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Farmers ahead, 4-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Pierstisnips said after the game.
