The Virginia Beach Whales topped the Lancaster Farmers, 16-9, with designated hitter Leon Green playing a big role. Green went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Whales in the win. Virginia Beach reliever Wu-shiun Lao picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Carlos González absorbed the loss. Ernest Howe finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Green had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Whales went on to win.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Green told the Virginia Beach Herald.

Lancaster has now lost 4 straight.
