In a close game at Virginia Beach Grounds, the Casper Ghosts edged the Virginia Beach Whales, 3-2. Casper left fielder Wen Chua earned the nod as player of the game. He was 2 for 4 with a triple. Casper reliever Raúl Hinojosa was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Ernest Howe took the loss. Roderick Miller closed the game out for Casper, earning his 4th save.
Casper used the timely hitting of Basava Puri to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Ghosts on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Puri. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The 9th-place Ghosts raised their record to 11-14.
