Whales Rally For Late Win Over Hops
The Virginia Beach Whales trumped the Yakima Hops, 7-6, at Hops Park. Virginia Beach catcher Xavier Mercier was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Reliever Stan Lowe picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Jan Koistinen took the loss. The 'W' lifts Virginia Beach's record to 12-9.
