Blue Sox Get Past Casper for 3-2 Win
The Irving Blue Sox picked up a win at The Graveyard, knocking off the Casper Ghosts, 3-2. On the mound for Irving was left-hander Ken French, who played a pivotal role in the win. Irving reliever Kerry Tenner picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Roderick Miller absorbed the loss. José Colón closed the door for Irving, picking up his 5th save of the year.

Phil Beck's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Roderick Miller for a run-scoring single. It put Irving in front, 3-2.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Irving manager Bill Clark.

Casper, at 2-10, has had a dismal start to the season.
