Farmers Cut Down Whales, 10-6
|
The Lancaster Farmers picked up a win at Virginia Beach Grounds, knocking off the Virginia Beach Whales, 10-6. Starting pitcher Kee Bao, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Losses have been rare for the Whales, who are now 9-3.
In the top of the eighth, with Lancaster leading 5-2, first baseman Eibe Schmidt hit a bases-clearing triple. The hit came off Kenny Hunt and put the Farmers ahead, 8-2.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Bao said after the game.
