Ogres Win Thriller, 3-2

The Ogres faced a stiff challenge from Asheville pitcher Anbrosio Mera, but persevered to claim a win at The Ogre Den. The final score was 3-2. Mera went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Losses have been rare for the Highlanders, who are now 5-1.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Tony Randolph came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Asheville pitcher Dave Haynes, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Olympia on top, 3-2.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Bob Thomas.
