Racers Stymie Hamilton, Take 8-1 Win
|
Pitcher José Macías was sensational for the Indianapolis Racers in his team's 8-1 triumph over the Hamilton Coyotes. Macías received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. The winning pitcher was Macías, now 3-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. The Racers own a robust 66-35 mark.
Indianapolis used the timely hitting of Carlos Rojas to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Racers on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Rojas.
