Athletic Club KC Wins, Goto 4-4
|
Getting a good performance from second baseman Tasuku Goto, the Athletic Club KC Reserves defeated the Syracuse Starks, 7-4. Goto was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Reserves. Salvador Sagastizabal got the win, improving to 11-6. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Bob Sosa notched his 13th save in 15 chances.
Athletic Club KC relied on the bat of Kwang-chih Feng to get the win. The third baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Reserves ahead, 4-2. For the game, Feng had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Feng told the Athletic Club KC Observer. "It's as simple as that."
Their 59-41 record puts the Reserves third in the Menard's AAA.
