Luis Tañón did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Syracuse Starks from losing, 7-5, to the Houston BC at Stark Stadium. Tañón was 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ed Abood was credited with the save for Houston, his 10th of the season. With the win, the BC improved to 42-54.
Tong-sik Im chipped in for Houston, stroking a crucial 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning. For the game, the second baseman was 1-2. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Im, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
