Houston BC starter Jesús Franco was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Indianapolis Racers, 4-2. José Lucero, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Houston goes to 40-52, Indianapolis to 60-32.

Houston took a 4-2 lead on Phil Gillespie's 17th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Gillespie hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Indianapolis pitcher Ashweather Cett shaking his head.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Houston skipper Juan Casas.
