Hamilton third baseman Don McGhee had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Syracuse Starks, 9-4. Octávio Moya, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 4 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 4-5. Ed Maresh earned his 1st save in 2 tries.
The Coyotes got a lift from left fielder Tony Rodríguez who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth inning off Harrison Dunning. It was his 16th RBI of the season and put Hamilton in front, 5-4.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said McGhee.
