Redlegs Continue Skid Thanks to Goto, Reserves
|
The exploits of second baseman Tasuku Goto, who is tied for 7th in the 3AAA in home runs with 15, helped the Athletic Club KC Reserves defeat the Sacramento Redlegs, 6-1. Goto was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the save was Francisco González, his 5th. The last-place Redlegs have lost 4 consecutive games.
In the bottom of the fourth, Athletic Club KC catcher Francisco Vargas had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and no one out, Vargas stroked a run-scoring double to center. It made the score 2-1, Athletic Club KC. For the game, he went 1 for 4 with a double.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Athletic Club KC manager Henry Russell.
