Red Pandas Come Up Short at Salt Lake City
|
Starting pitcher António Alomar pitched well enough to help the Salt Lake City Buzz beat the Sioux Falls Red Pandas by the score of 4-3. Alomar got the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. Alomar allowed 3 earned runs. The Buzz go to 37-28, putting them 4th in the Menard's AAA.
Aaron Day had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for the Buzz. Coming up with the bases loaded and Salt Lake City trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Sioux Falls manager Todd England. "But we decided not to take it."
