BC Throttle Drummers, 5-1
|
Silverberry Mouhon never let Tortolita get something going. The Houston right-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the BC to a 5-1 win. The winning pitcher was Mouhon, now 3-4. He tossed 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Houston is now riding a 4-game win streak.
Houston used the timely hitting of Alfonso Torres to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the BC on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Mouhon called the win "a collective effort."
