Walden Sensational for BC
|
Houston got an elite performance from starting pitcher Joel Walden in taking a 4-1 decision over the Syracuse Starks. Ed Abood converted his 4th save in 4 tries. The BC saw their win-loss record go to 23-37. At the same time, the Starks fell to 28-32.
Walden, the winner, is now 3-3 after putting the clamps on the Syracuse offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 2 hits, while collecting 7 Ks.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Syracuse manager Ralph Wood. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
