Drummers Score Late to Upend Racers, 2-1
|
Indianapolis pitcher José Macías gave the Drummers all they could handle, but in the end, Tortolita left Speedway Field with a 2-1 win. Macías allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits over 7.1 innings. The Drummers own a robust 35-19 mark.
Tortolita used the bat of Roberto Mosca to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Drummers ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Mosca told reporters after the game.
