Flyers Sink Redlegs, 6-0
|
Willis Pittman never let the Redlegs get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Flyers to a 6-0 win. In 5 innings, Pittman surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The Flyers, at 24-26, sit in 7th place in the Menard's AAA.
Pennsauken relied on the bat of Julián De Paz to get the win. The first baseman ripped a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Flyers ahead, 5-0. For the game, De Paz had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"It's a mindset," said Pittman. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
