Racers Drop Coyotes with Late Score
|
Indianapolis beat Hamilton on the strength of starter Kendarian Handy-Holly's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. Indianapolis reliever Tom Hegedus picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Luis Soto shouldered the loss. Alejandro Araya earned the save, his 2nd, for the Racers.
Luis Aranda hit a 2-run double off Walid bin Amid in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Racers in front, 5-3. In addition to the double, Aranda had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"Kendarian was throwing strikes, locating well," said Indianapolis manager Rickey Jones.
Indianapolis goes to 34-15. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
