Houston center fielder Mike Howard had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Howard went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, even as Pennsauken beat the BC, 5-3. Howard was named the player of the game despite the loss. Fred Gunther, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 6.1 innings. The BC, now 15-26, have lost 4 straight.
The Flyers grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With two out, Raúl Moreno hit a 2-run home run off Shawn Coleman, putting Pennsauken in front, 4-0. For Moreno, it was his 5th home run of the season.
"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Pennsauken manager Jeff Walsh said afterward.
