The Tortolita Drummers got a strong performance from pitcher Karl Dandleton, who stymied the Salt Lake City offense en route to a 3-1 win at Drummers Ballpark. Dandleton, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Dave Seals got credit for the save for Tortolita. It was his 8th of the year.

Tortolita shortstop Miguel Elías contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a splitter into left field for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Drummers ahead, 3-0.

"You can't take yourself too seriously," Elías told the Tortolita Observer. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."

The second-place Drummers now have a 4-game winning streak.
