Serrano Excels, But Starks Win
Despite a great performance by Sacramento shortstop Luis Serrano, the Syracuse Starks defeated the Redlegs by the score of 9-6 at Sacramento Sanitation Station. Serrano was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Syracuse is 7th in the Menard's AAA with a record of 17-18.

Syracuse used the bat of Robinson Barquero to get the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Starks ahead, 7-5. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

Barquero expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
