Loss Extends Sacramento Losing Streak
|
Sacramento left fielder Ramiro Palmeiro was sensational. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Key West beat the Redlegs, 9-6. Palmeiro was named the player of the game despite the loss. Larcena Pennington closed the game out for Key West, earning his 8th save. Sacramento's current losing streak has reached 6 games.
Stephen Webb helped out the Key West cause in the bottom of the first inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Webb told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
