5-1 Starks Win over Coral Reefers Evens Season Record
|
Syracuse starter Ollie McDaniell pitched effectively against the Key West Coral Reefers at Stark Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a 5-1 win. Picking up the save was William Fothergill, his 1st. The Starks move to 11-11 with the win, while the Coral Reefers drop to 13-9.
Ernesto Souza, who is tied for 6th in the 3AAA in bases on balls with 16, chipped in for Syracuse with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 5 runs batted in.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Souza told the Syracuse Bulletin.
