The Tortolita Drummers defeated the Salt Lake City Buzz, 9-1, in M3L Triple A action at Spirits Stadium. Bart Lewis received player of the game honors. The 1-year veteran was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Kabeya Kasongo was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed no runs on 1 hit, with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts. Addie Samson earned the save for Tortolita, his 1st of the year.

Tortolita used the timely hitting of Armando Chamú to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Drummers ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Chamú. "I think we're going to keep proving that."

The second-place Drummers now have a 8-game winning streak.
