The Indianapolis Racers bested the Key West Coral Reefers, 7-5, at Milton Corner Tavern. Eugene Clutch was named player of the game. He was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 3 runs. Indianapolis reliever Mark Erwin picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Larcena Pennington took the loss. The save went to Jamel Rhoads, his 1st this season.

Indianapolis used the timely hitting of Alfredo Escalante to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Racers on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

In postgame comments, Escalante told the Indianapolis Gazette: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"

The first-place Racers have a one-game lead in their division.
