Starks Get Close Win Over Drummers
The Tortolita Drummers got a superb performance from pitcher Tom Scots, but the Syracuse Starks still won the game, 2-1. Scots was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Denver Milne, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. Syracuse has a mark of 7-7 after the win.

Soren Loen had the most critical at-bat for Syracuse. With two in the top of the ninth inning, Loen hit a 3-1 fastball from Dave Seals for a run-scoring single. It put Syracuse in front, 2-1.
