Hot Start Continues for Red Pandas
|
The Pennsauken Flyers and Sioux Falls Red Pandas brought some excitement to Pennsauken Park.
Sioux Falls Red Pandas starter Daniel Martínez was in fine form against the Pennsauken Flyers at Pennsauken Park, leading his team to a 8-4 win. Martínez, now 2-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing no earned runs. Getting the save was Keisuke Nishida, his 4th.
Sioux Falls used the timely hitting of Alejandro Herrera to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Red Pandas on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Herrera.
The Red Pandas, now 8-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
