The Tortolita Drummers beat the Sacramento Redlegs, 7-2, at Drummers Ballpark. The Drummers got a fine performance from shortstop Miguel Elías, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5. Scott Thompson, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 1-1. With the win, Tortolita pushes its record to 4-2.

The Drummers got a lift from center fielder Scotty Glenn who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second inning off Keith Lawrence. It was his 2nd RBI of the season and put Tortolita in front, 1-0.
