Flyers Lose, 6-1, at Speedway Field
|
The Indianapolis Racers topped the Pennsauken Flyers, 6-1, in M3L Triple A action at Speedway Field. The player of the game was Indianapolis pitcher and Anchorage, Alaska native John Hottinger. The winning pitcher was Hottinger, now 1-0. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Indianapolis has a record of 3-2.
The Racers beat the Flyers with some clutch hitting. The single by Spartak Gonjarov in the bottom of the fourth is a good example. With two down, Gonjarov gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Gonjarov said after the game.
