Coral Reefers Turn Back Hamilton, 7-5
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Key West Coral Reefers defeated the Hamilton Coyotes, 7-5, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Key West third baseman Lorenzo Rosas was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2-2 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. The winner was Key West reliever Jacob Petithomme, now 1-0. The loser was Zebulon Vermillion. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Ricky O'Toole.
Key West used the bat of Lane McCool to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Coral Reefers ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We take it day by day here," said Rosas, "and today was a good one for us."
With the win, Key West boosts its record to 2-2.
