Late Rally by Reserves Secures Win
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Pennsauken Park, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2037 M3L Triple A season. On the mound was Scotty Bingham for the visiting Athletic Club KC Reserves and Luis Hernández for the hometown Pennsauken Flyers. In a spirited contest, the Reserves pulled out the win, defeating the Flyers by the score of 3-2. Earning player of the game honors was Scotty Bingham. Bingham got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Bingham allowed 2 earned runs. Francisco González earned the save, his 1st.
Athletic Club KC used the bat of John Ricks to get the win. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Reserves ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Bingham told reporters after the game.
