Rocketeers Curb Piranhas, 6-2
|
Panama City got a terrific performance from pitcher José Marín, but it wasn't enough to beat the Seattle Rocketeers. Seattle won the The Tank contest, 6-2. Marín was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He came in in relief and pitched to 16 batters . The Rocketeers now have a record of 21-14 with the win over Panama City.
Seattle used the bat of Claudio Tappen to capture the win. The left fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Rocketeers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Tappen told reporters after the game.
