Stingers Lose to Dodgers, 5-2
|
The Brooklyn Dodgers picked up a win at Ebbetts Field, knocking off the Toledo Stingers, 5-2. On the mound for Brooklyn was left-hander Hermenegildo Beliago, who played a pivotal role in the win. Beliago got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Beliago allowed no earned runs. The Dodgers bumped their record to 17-16 with this latest triumph.
Takashi Miike was a prime contributor to the Brooklyn win. He went 2-4 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth with two out, the slick-fielding second baseman hit a bases-clearing triple. It made the score 5-0, in favor of the Dodgers.
"We had a good game plan," Beliago said, "and we were able to execute it."
