The 2037 season is getting ugly for Cleveland.
The Cattlemen faced a stiff challenge from Cleveland pitcher Ryunosuke Kurota, but persevered to claim a win at Factory of Sadness. The final score was 4-3. Kurota went 7 innings and allowed no earned runs. Pedro Valdéz earned the save for Ft. Worth, his 9th of the year.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Craig Woods came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Cleveland pitcher Martín García, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Ft. Worth on top, 4-3.
"Enjoyed this one," Woods told the Ft. Worth Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Cleveland has now lost 7 in a row.
