Knights Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Toledo center fielder Heherson Inaris had a good game, even if his team did not. The Stingers dropped a 8-6 decision to Kingston Township at Pacesetter Park. Inaris was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Reliever Kevin Pilkington picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Danny Bystrom took the loss. Shackleford Stanwick earned the save, his 1st.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the top of the seventh inning. Facing Toledo hurler Danny Bystrom, Ed Mellor, who finished 4th in the 3L in wins above replacement with 4.8 last year, hit a single. The Knights went on to win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Mellor said after the game.
The Stingers drop to 4-7 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2037 season.
