Outlaws Stymie Thunder Bay, Take 4-1 Win
|
It was a fun time at Nashville Stadium, where the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC and Nashville Outlaws tangled.
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC got a superb performance from pitcher Billy Grange. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Nashville. The Outlaws won the game, 4-1. In spite of the loss, Grange was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. John Rigsby was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 15 save opportunities.
The Outlaws got a big at-bat from first baseman Tom Burton. For the game, Burton was 1-3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 24th double of the season gave Nashville a 2-1 lead.
"It was a good effort all around," said Burton.
The Outlaws bumped their record to 57-50 with this latest triumph.
