Victory Over 1837 BBC Takes Northern Virginia to 70-37
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids picked up a win at Atlantica, knocking off the Houston 1837 BBC, 5-2. On the mound for Northern Virginia was right-hander Aurelio López, who played a pivotal role in the win. Brewster Warble got the save, his 25th in 31 chances. The first-place Rainbow Mermaids, at 70-37, now lead their division by 6½ games.

The Rainbow Mermaids picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," López said after the game.
