Northern Lions BC Waste Great Game from Padilla
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC got a superb performance from shortstop Ramón Padilla. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Houston. The 1837 BBC won the game, 9-8. In spite of the loss, Padilla was named the player of the game. He went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Jon Briddon got the win, improving to 3-6. He held the Northern Lions BC to 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 5. Darweshi Hadiya got the save, his 10th in 13 chances.
In the bottom of the third, Javier Seco hit a 3-run home run for Houston. The 18th home run of the season for the Houston first baseman put the 1837 BBC on top, 5-2.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Seco.
Houston is 43-62 and Thunder Bay, with the loss, 54-51.
