Hotspur Come Up Short at Oakland
|
The Oakland Oaks defeated the Phoenix Hotspur, 4-3, in United States Silver League action at Oakland Coliseum, with Oakland pitcher Miguel Cabañas named player of the game. Anthony Ledesma picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-3. Rook Ellington was tagged with the loss. Júlio Rodríguez got the save, the 21st for him this season.
Oakland took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, José Vargas hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Oaks.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Oakland manager DAshley GoAs.
The Oaks bumped their record to 61-40 with this latest triumph.
