Ogallala No Match for Fontirroig Friday, August 24th, 2035 Valley View Cougars fans were pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard as Pepe Fontirroig blanked the Ogallala Octopi, 4-0 at Hillandale Grounds today. Fontirroig stopped them on 4 hits while walking 1 and striking out 6. "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite," Cougars skipper Will Thomas said. "He was on top of his game in this one." So far this year Fontirroig has made 7 starts, tossed 47.2 innings, struck out 31 batters and walked 14. His record is 3-2 with a 3.02 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .235 batting average.
